The Problem
Struggling to Get Rid of a Washing Machine in Prestwick?
The council won't come inside for white goods. Charity shops don't want broken ones. And most scrap collectors won't take fridges because of the gas recovery requirements.
White goods weigh 70-90kg — too heavy to move alone
Council uplift requires kerbside placement — they won't come inside
Fridges and freezers contain gases needing specialist disposal
Skips aren't suitable for heavy individual appliances
Unlicensed collectors may dump appliances illegally

WEEE compliant disposal at licensed recycling facilities
Getting a single heavy item out of a Prestwick home depends on the home. Prestwick is villas and bungalows along the Main Street and the seafront, inter-war semis, and housing near the airport and golf links.
The parts of Prestwick we know best are Heathfield, housing on the Ayr boundary; Prestwick Seafront, villas and flats along the Esplanade; Monkton, the neighbouring village by the airport; Prestwick Toll, semis and bungalows.
Heathfield in Ayr is the nearest South Ayrshire recycling centre. South Ayrshire Council's special uplift is chargeable. Staff at the sites will not lift for you, which is the whole problem with a sofa or a washing machine.
On access: Main Street parking is limited; residential streets are fine. Prestwick bungalow clearances are usually downsizing jobs handled with care.
Appliance removal in Prestwick starts from just £30 for a single appliance. Multiple appliances are charged based on van space used. WhatsApp us a photo for an exact price.
We don't disconnect gas appliances — that requires a Gas Safe engineer. For electric appliances, we can advise on safe disconnection, but we recommend switching off and unplugging before we arrive.
Yes — we collect all types of fridges and freezers from Prestwick properties, including American-style fridge-freezers and chest freezers. All are disposed of in compliance with WEEE regulations.
Absolutely — we collect appliances from any floor in Prestwick properties. Tenement flats, upper-floor kitchens, even cellars. Our team handles the heavy lifting.

All of them. The regular calls come from Prestwick Seafront, Monkton and Prestwick Toll, and we also cover Ayr, Troon, Irvine from the same run. If you are anywhere in South Ayrshire, send a photo and we will confirm a slot.
South Ayrshire Council's special uplift is chargeable. We are the alternative when the wait is too long, the item list is too short, or you cannot get it to the kerb: we carry from inside and usually come the same day.
Usually the same day. Prestwick bungalow clearances are usually downsizing jobs handled with care. A booking before midday is normally collected that afternoon; otherwise next day, with a two-hour arrival window.
